So Long, Everyone...

Hey there! It's been a really long time since I last posted. So sorry! Life has been crazy...
I have bad news. First off, I'm down to two ratties. The past six months has been really hard...I've been losing all my oldies. :( Not only Atto died, but so did Peppermint, Patty, Maria & Javier. Those five rats are the founders of Riverside Rattery. I'll miss them tons!
Okay, so here's the really bad news. I'm no longer breeding. Life has taken some interesting turns and I just don't have time anymore. This was a hard decision for me to make. This rattery has been a big part of my life and I've really enjoyed it! I may start again one day, but it'll be way down the road. One thing's for sure, I'll always own at least a couple ratties. ;)
Even though I'm no longer breeding rats I'll still be working with animals (once an animal lover always an animal lover). I'm excited to announce that I'm going to start training a therapy dog in the next few months. Just have to wait until I find the right one! I've been wanting to do this for many years... I know I can really impact people's lives.
Well, so long folks. I hope to be back some day!

Goodbye Bailey & Mr. Tumnus...

I will miss these little munchkins!

*March 6th, 2015*
This rotten girl was as sweet as they get! She was Atto's mom, which made her extra special. Bailey has quite a story. I'll write all about it when I have the time. ;-)

*April 6th, 2015*
Mr. Tumnus (left) was the runt of my first hairless litter. He was a scrawny, little thing. I always said he was so ugly he looked cute! Lol! You would have to see him to know what I mean. ;-) But his looks didn't affect his temperament! This ratty was so sweet...he loved to cuddle from day one. He and my mom had a special bond. I'm not the only one who will miss him...

Goodbye, Little Ratties...

As I mentioned in a previous post, quite a few of my oldies passed away. :-( I will miss them!
These pictures are not in any certain order. There will be more to come in a second post...

*March 28th, 2015*
Remington was my sweet, goofy boy. He always made me smile. :-)

*March 24th, 2015*
Sparky was severely abused before joining my rattery. I spent a lot of time training him. He eventually learned to trust me, which made me so happy! We became very good buddies. :-)

*April 28th, 2015*
Big Blue (aka Binky) was my chunky boy. ;-) I've had a lot of sweet rats in the past, but this guy was the most gentle of them all!

*April 26th, 2015*
Pinocchio was Mr. Attitude. ;-) He was shy as a baby, but definitely opened up as he got older...

Misc. Ratty Pictures....

Aadi & Raven are very old...

I attached this to the wall so rat room visitors can give my furry friends treats. :-)

That bread should have been stored on the shelf, not on top of Javier's cage!!

My brother found this neat toy at the pet store...

TT was being very naughty during cage cleaning time! Lol

Rattery Update....

Hey, y'all! It's been a long time since I posted...I've been very busy lately. I started a new job, so I've been pretty focused on that. Even so, I still make time for my ratties every day. :-)
I would be lying if I said things have been going great in my rattery. Sadly, some of my oldies passed away. They were my little buddies, so dealing with that has been hard...I will post pictures of them soon.
The rest of my furry friends have been doing pretty well. They are mischievous little things...I have so many funny stories! When I have time I'll write a post all about it.
Well, I hope everyone has a great day! Please take the time to check in every now and then. I may have some surprises for you. ;-)
